Welcome to Stanford village in the Cape Overberg, South Africa. Take a break. Allow us to arrange the perfect weekend or holiday in Stanford for you. A typical weekend in our country village might look like this:

FRIDAY
Accommodation: For self-catering, which gives you the flexibility of keeping your own time, and allows you the freedom to experience the delights of our superb restaurants, try Pizbrooke Country Cottage. For hotel accommodation try The Stanford Hotel for superb country comfort. Regular live musicals and soirees held in season.

Evening: From 17:00 - Snack Hour at Oom Steyn’s Pub (The Stanford Hotel), meeting spot for the locals and weekend visitors alike. This is the oldest pub in Stanford and hosts Saturday night functions and parties whenever requested. Open Wed-Fri from 17h00 and Saturdays from 10h00. Affordable meals, jazz music and a comfortable 20's atmosphere. (No children allowed).

The Stanford Hotel - Village Pub – Wine Shop - Beer Garden & Braai, Live Theatre and accommodation.

SATURDAY
Breakfast: Take an early walk to Marianas for a healthy bowl of fruit and muesli, quiche, home-made pie, or a muffin. Stock up with freshly baked deli goodies for the weekend OR visit Oom Steyn's for bacon and eggs and watch the rugby on his cinema screen!

Mid-morning: Visit The Stanford Trading Store for a fabulous selection of antiques, enamelware and bric-a-brac, also The New Junk Shop for railway memorabilia, antiques and more. Stop off at Stanford Hotel liquor store and wine shop for your estate wines of the region, Dowies is another must on your shopping list. All found along the main road of Stanford (Queen Victoria Street)

Lunch: Book a trip on Platanna with a picnic basket from Peregrine Farm Stall.

Dinner: Paprika's is an absolute must, an intimate bistro on the main road across the road from The Stanford Hotel - consistently excellent quality and variety. Also open for dinner on Saturday nights in season are Oom Steyn's and Havecrofts. If Oom Steyn’s is open – pop in for a party or just a simple nightcap after dinner.

SUNDAY
Breakfast at Peregrines or at Marianas for an unconventional start to your day!

Lunch: The perfect way to end your weekend. Lunch at Marianas will be the final Stanford experience which will make you return to this memorable little village, time and time again. Booking essential!
